Kristen Angarano Co-Director


Raised in New York, Kristen began dancing when she was two years old. By age six she was competing, both with groups and as a soloist on a National Level throughout the country. She demonstrated for many years, and studied ballet at various institutes. At age sixteen, she attended Dance Educators of America and became certified to teach all areas of dance, acrobatics, anatomy and musical theory. Kristen attended California Lutheran University on an academic scholarship and was later granted an endowment scholarship before graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. While a student she was a member of the Regal Dance Team- the first dance team in the University's history to become nationally ranked. Kristen currently oversees all studio operations and teaches at Reflections in Dance West located in Woodland Hills. Kristen is an integral part of the Company training program there but also teaches non competitive students. Kristen was recently selected to join the country-wide directory for Top Young Business Women. Additionally, this year Kristen acted as one of the dance directors for the International Presentation of Pop Performers and had her routine " Rock This Party " selected to premiere in an AT&T internet commercial. Kristen also serves as the Administrative Director of Reflections I and II located in New York, traveling back and forth to remain actively involved in all 3 studios. Kristen works as the main choreographer of the St. Mel Elementary School drama club, putting on productions such as Grease,Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Highschool Musical, The Little Mermaid, Once Upon a Mattress and the newest production Alice in Wonderland. Kristen has worked as a judge, teacher and choreographer at numerous other schools ( St. Bernadine's, Chapparel, Louisville Highschool , CLU ) dedicating her time to students in an effort to help expand programs for the arts. Kristen strives to keep her students connected to the community; in addition to performing at different charity events- in 2010 Kristen founded the Dance For A Cure organization. Featured by the world reknowned TED-X - Dance For A Cure aims to help raise funding and awareness to help find a cure for MS. To date, in conjunction with local area partners, Dance For A Cure has raised over $35k for their cause.
